RULES WADDESDON BADMINTON WHATSAPP GROUP

At the outset participants (‘users’, ‘club members’) must consent prior to being put into a WhatsApp (‘app’) Group as their telephone number will be visible to all within the group, and personal telephone numbers cannot be communicated without consent. Consent is assumed when members signup to the group via the ‘sign up sheet’ available at club sessions or provide their telephone number to the 'admins' (whether directly or indirectly - i.e through another club member) as to request access to the group. Users of the group accept upon signing up/joining the group that they are aware of the mechanics of the app, including how to ‘leave’ the group.

This is a sports club group. It has been set up by club admins who will act as administrator. They are not “moderators”. 

This group is intended as a convenient way to distribute information to club members quickly and efficiently and for members to communicate easily with each other regarding club matters.

Such a group is set up in a spirit of informal communication amongst a group of persons sharing the same common interest. In keeping with that spirit, it is not the intention that there ought to be an overly legalistic attitude towards its operation. However, the following ought to be adhered to:

1. The group is not to be used to discuss completely unrelated issues (users should act within reason)

2. The group should not be used to express personal opinions or post private messages. 

3. Any opinions expressed are the opinions of individual members. Group 

   administrators are not responsible for any comments posted by individual 

   members of the group. 

4. It is not necessary to respond to every post. 

5. Inappropriate posts including using inappropriate language, insulting messages, voicing grievances with an individual will not be tolerated and will lead to expulsion from the group and Waddesdon Badminton Club.

6. If a user has concerns regarding the behaviour/actions of another user, whether on the group or during a club session, they should message the group admins privately.

7. The group is for club members 18 years old and over only. This is a matter of safeguarding and is everyone’s responsibility. 

8. You agree to treat all users with respect and courtesy.

By participating in the ‘Waddesdon Badminton Club’ WhatsApp Group, you agree to these group rules and understand that your mobile number and name will be accessible to other people in the group. Participation is not obligatory and if you join, you have the option of leaving.
